Get involved

At Nitasimama you can get involved by being a volunteer social worker or Volunteer in the NBP (Nitasimama Benefit’s program) or volunteer for the tutoring programs. As a social worker volunteer you would Interview clients and family members to obtain key information for case planning and management, assess cognitive abilities, and physical and emotional needs of clients to determine appropriate interventions, and Provide Evidenced-based treatments such as CBT and DBT therapy skills. As a social worker volunteer, you would also facilitate therapeutic groups to help children recognize their emotions and learn cognitive strategies to improve behaviors.

 As a Volunteer teacher at Nitasimama Foundation, you would work with children at their level, teach basic English and basic math, and assist them with their homework. You would also work closely with the school teacher, and the Social workers in developing strategic teaching methods to assist the children in their academics 

  At Nitasimama you can also get involved in our NBP program (Nitasimama benefits program). As a volunteer for the NBP program, you would organize care packages such as food, clothing and stationery items for children and their families who are in need. As a NBP volunteer, you would also visit local communities and assist in assessing needs in the communities so as to help improve academic success.
